Rio 2016: Gumel confident Nigeria’s Women Beach Volleyball will qualify for Olympic

The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVF), Habu Gumel has made everything available for Nigeria to have a good hosting.

Mr Habu Gumel further stated that, the country’s biggest threat is Morocco and hope the coaches and players are ready to make us proud for this crucial round of qualifiers, Beach.

Out of 12 countries, South Africa and Kenya have withdrawn from the competition, we are expecting nine counties now,’’ he said.

Ten countries are expected to participate in the competition taking place in Nigeria. Theses countries include; Morocco, Gambia, Namibia, Egypt, Mauritius, Rwanda, Mozambique, Burkina-Faso, Sierra-Leone and Ghana.

The first team from the qualifying series will go to the Olympics while the second and third teams will qualify for the World Cup and World Championship, respectively.
