Rivers Hoopers beat Tunisian side to record third straight BAL victories
Nigeria’s representative at the 2024 Basketball African League (BAL), Rivers Hoopers recorded their third straight win of the tournament after an 84-63 victory against US Monastir from Tunisia on Tuesday.
The Port Harcourt-based side won three out of the four quarters 16-25, 13-24, 22-18, and 12-17 in a dominant fashion.
Kelvin Amayo emerged as the top performer of the game with 30 points, four rebounds, and nine assists ahead of US Monastir’s Sadio Doucoure who had 21 points and five rebounds.
The win solidified Rivers Hooper’s leadership position on the Sahara Conference table with six points after three games ahead of APR (5 points), Douanes (4 points), and US Monastir (3 points).
They will face Douanes in their next match on Thursday, May 9, 2024, before further clashes with APR, and Monastir.
