Robbers burgle Confluence Queens Camp, Steals Belongings

Players of Nigeria Women Football League club Confluence Queens on Friday arrived their base in Lokoja to find their belongings carted-away by unknown robbers.

The Lokoja girls who on reaching Onitsha returned from their aborted trip to Aba for last league match against Standard Babes after a 5-0 bashing of Lagos based FC Real Dynamos in Benin yesterday.

The latest witnessed the second robbery attack suffered in the current calender year after they were earlier robbed on their route to Lagos to honour a duel against FC Robo in which their phones, monies and accessories were collected.

SavidNews Nigeria recalled that the Kogi state Sports Commissioner, Mr Puke Anthony promised the government aid over their stolen properties which are yet to be redeemed.

SavidNews Nigeria investigation uncovered that the Kogi State government sponsored club players are housed 20km away from main road far inside the deserted area of Old Poly Quarters near Ganaja bridge in Lokoja, the state capital.

SavidNews Nigeria also uncovered that the over 23 female players population are residing in fenced-rented three-bed room apartment and without a security.

Tough can’t ascertain the extent of loss suffered by the players, we gathered no player was assaulted as all the Confluence Queens players travelled with the team and none left in camp.
