Rwanda announces strong squad for Super Falcons

Coach Grace Nyinawumuntu has named a squad of 24 players that will face Nigeria in the first leg of the African Women Championship qualifiers in Kigali on May 24.caf

The Rwandans will play Zambia on May 10 before Edwin Okon’s women that will also face the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in their return leg of their friendly game.

She-Amavubi qualified for this stage on away goal rule after aggregate scores against Kenya stood at 2-2.

“We have called the entire team and the technical staff to join camp so that we can select the best of the 24 players,” Nyinawumuntu told Focus Sports, a Rwanda based media outfit.

The winners of this round will proceed to the Africa Women Championship which will be held in Namibia from October 11 to 24.

This year’s African Women Championship will serve as the qualifier for the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup in Canada.
