Sammy Wejinya Replaces 12-year serving China Acheru as Dolphins media officer

Supersport.com reporter, Sammy Wejinya has been appointed media chief of three-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Dolphins FC.

Sammy replaces China Acheru who served in the same capacity for 12 years.

Announcing his appointment, Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Honourable Boma Iyaye said he had “no doubts” that Sammy is the right man for the job.

“I have no doubts that Sammy will do a good job as he has a great track record as a sport journalist.

“He is suitably qualified and we know he will contribute his quota in making Dolphins the best football club in Nigeria again,” Iyaye said.

Sammy who is a graduate in Mass Communication from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology has been a practicing sport journalist since 2003.

His rich experience in the media includes stints at FRCN Port Harcourt, Silverbird Communications, Love FM, and Wave FM where he served with distinction as head of sport for three years.

He is currently an integral member of the “sport gang” at AIM Consultants, owners of Cool FM, Wazobia FM and Nigeria Info FM.

Sammy is also the Special Adviser (SA) on media to the Rivers State Sport Commissioner, Honourable Boma Iyaye.
