Sanwo-Olu Announces Commitment To Food Security
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated Lagos State’s pledge to maintain food security and increase access to affordable foods.
Represented by his Deputy Dr Obafemi Hamzat at the 2023 Lagos Food Festival, the Governor assured of sustained efforts in developing agriculture under the state’s THEMES agenda.
Quoted in reports, Sanwo-Olu said “My administration will remain committed to developing the agricultural industry in Lagos.”
The event themed “A Fusion of Flavours” saw a large turnout, reflecting the city’s spirit according to the Governor.
He noted the festival showcases prosperity, innovation and entrepreneurship for Lagos’ youths while empowering SMEs in agriculture and food.
Sanwo-Olu praised the ingenuity and prosperity on display, saying “We cannot be a society just sitting and complaining. We can see all these young people here doing various things to add value and succeed, which is the spirit of Lagos.”
The Governor expressed satisfaction with fostering job creation and economic opportunities through the annual food and cultural extravaganza.
