Season 02 Launch: Dambe Warriors League Thrills 3,000 in Lagos at Gidan Dambe

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Circuit Fight 06 picked up right where the Dambe Warriors League left off in November. Packed with upsets, fans were excited to see new faces in the ring. Based on the results of the weigh-in, it was determined that Dogon Sisco and Autan Kudawa would be joining the lightweights, Dan Nigeria would become part of the middleweights, and Dage would do battle in the heavyweight division.

Among the biggest shockers at the sold-out event was that all three newly promoted warriors into the league secured victories against their formidable opponents. Yar Mage earned victory over Superfight runner-up Autan Ali Kanin Bello, Shaaban dominated Dan Nigeria, and out of nowhere, Dogon Sani dethroned the king of the heavyweight division, Dogo Maitakwasara.

With the launch of Season 02, Dambe Warriors League also began their long-awaited partnership with MTN. With the partnership, DWL will look to expand on its impressive Season 01 reach of 7 million from September through November by accessing MTN Nigeria’s subscriber base, which is tallied at over 77 million as of September 2023.

With new venues on the schedule for Season 02, the Dambe Warriors team looks to expand their reach into Minna and Kaduna before Superfight 02 is held in early March before the start of Ramadan.

Dambe Warriors League and their Season 02 sponsors Bet9ja, Hero Bikes, Infinite Drinks, Indomie, Hypo, Power Oil, Colgate, Pop Cola, Amstel Malta, AIICO, and their local partner Cloud 9 Sports, are excited to continue to bring fans world-class Dambe content beginning at Circuit Fight 07 on January 7th in Minna.
