Nigeria U23 men coach Samson Siasia is happy as he now enjoys the full complement of Nigeria Professional Football League players he invited for preparation for the African U23 Nations Cup that will take place in Senegal later this month.

Having complained of the absence of many of the invited players previously, Siasia has now begun full training sessions at the Goal Project Center of the Abuja National Stadium.

The team has started real work since the players have shown up but the tactical aspect of the work will be done when we assemble in Morocco for our final camping where all the invited foreign-based players would have joined too,” Siasia told Goal.

The coach also disclosed that he expects Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho and Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi to also join the team in Morocco immediately after they playing for the Super Eagles against Swaziland in the 2018 World Cup qualifier next week.

“Kelechi and Alex that have also been invited for the Super Eagles’ World Cup qualifier will also join us in Morocco after the Eagles match,” Siasia said.

Siasia also revealed the other players that have already assured him and confirmed their availability for Senegal include team captain Azubuike Okechukwu, Liverpool’s on-loan striker Taiwo Awoniyi, Tunisia-based striker Junior Ajayi and Glasgow Rangers’ attacking midfielder Nathan Oduwa.

Nigeria have been drawn with Egypt, Algeria and Mali in Group of the championship.
