Six Makes SuperSport Follow Ya Mouth Finals in Port Harcourt
Six successful candidates have emerged from the SuperSport Follow Ya Mouth Pidgin English commentator search in Port Harcourt.
After the two-day exercise, Edward Kalu, Lucas Ponfa Jeremiah, Jombo Oyinkuro, Benjamin Okenna, Ufuoma Egbamuno and Ben-Wakama Ibimini were adjudged the best commentators at the Port Harcourt zone.
The event, which was anchored by SuperSport presenter Mozez Praiz, had as judges sports presenter Deji Omotoyinbo, radio on-air personality Tega Onojaefe and popular Pidgin English newscaster, Chinedu Ani.
The contestants took turns in front of the judges as they ran football commentaries in Pidgin English.
One of the contestants, Frank Obibine-Nduka from Lokoja, Kogi State described the competition as an “amazing experience” that he would not forget in a hurry.
Another contestant, Kayode Ojo, a final year Linguistics and Communication student of the University of Port Harcourt, said the competition was “challenging and exciting”.
The search moves to Lagos on Friday and Saturday, where six other candidates are expected to emerge from the zone.
All the successful contestants will stay together in a house where they will be groomed and tested ahead of the grand finale where the best of them will be selected as the official SuperSport Pidgin English commentator.
