South Africa seeks stronger tourism, investment ties with Nigeria

The South African Tourism Board on Tuesday called for stronger relations with Nigeria in tourism and investment.

The Chief Executive Officer of the board, Mr Thulani Nzima, made the call in a statement copied to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

“The idea is for both countries to have a strong business tie.

“It will provide a platform for discussing challenges that may arise in tourism and investment promotion,” Nzima said.

He stressed that stronger relations between Nigeria and South Africa in investment and tourism would bring business benefits to exhibitors and tourism practitioners in both countries.

“The board is committed to adding value to the entire travel and tourism ecosystem.

“The relations will ensure that both countries’ tourism practitioners, doing business together, get maximum returns on their businesses,” he said.

Nzima said that the board would organise a three-day tourism and trade show next year to bring together buyers, exhibitors and tourism practitioners to showcase their potential.

He said that the event, tagged “We are Africa”, would hold in Cape Town, South Africa, from May 5 to May 8, 2014.
