South-South NFF Appoints Dr Singabelle “Patron”, Hails Maigari

The South-South Stakeholders Forum of Nigeria Football Federation at the weekend appoint former NFA board Member Dr. Peter Singabelle as the patron of the zone, the south south had their congress in Port Harcourt at Muriela hotel.
The congress was declare open by the Rivers State Commissioner for youth and sports Hon Fred Igwe, he thank the congress for coming together again after a long time and promise to contribute to the development of the zone, and ask the congress to always invite sports commissioners whenever they are having meeting in the zone because they too are stakeholders.
The Chief Host of the Congress, Barrister Christopher Green, who is the zone coordinator thank all the delegate for attending the meeting and ask them to keeping supporting him and Chief Johnson Effiong in the board of NFF to move the zone forward, “I want to use this medium to appeal to all of us here to come together as one family and make the zone the best in the country. I must say thank you all am happy that the one love is us is forever,” Green told the congress.
The South-South Zonal Coordinator also hailed the leadership style of President Alhaji Aminu Maigari over the Nigeria Football Federation for which stand for the success recorded so far, and ask every body to rally round him to better lot of football and the development of the game in the country.
The congress thank him for calling the meeting which they say was over due and ask him to try and reach other stakeholder in the zone so as to bring peace to the zone.
All the state FA chairmen and their secretaries were in attendance, former NPL Chairman Davidson Owummi, Dr.Peter Singabelle, Austin Popo,some match commissioners in the zone and representatives of Nigeria Premier League clubs – Bayelsa United FC, Sharks FC, Dolphins FC, Warri Wolves FC, Akwa United FC, were also in the meeting.
At the end of the Congress the following resolutions were reach, and sign by Benjamin Akobo secretary of rivers state FA.
The statement further stated that a reconciliatory committee has been set-up to reconciled aggrieved members of the zone.
