Super Falcons whip Confluence Queens 3-0 in friendly

Nigeria’s senior women national team whipped the country’s Women Premier League side Confluence Queens 3-0 in a friendly match played at the Fifa Goal Project pitch on Saturday.

Goals from Ngozi Ebere, Francisca Ordega and Portsmouth Ladies forward Iniabasi Umotong secured coach Edwin Okon’s side the all-impotant victory ahead of the final round, first leg match in the All Africa Games against Mali on March 22.

The warm-up matches was Falcons’ first friendly match against a female club side they resumed camp on February 22 while Confluence Queens played their second tune-up game since the 2-2 home draw against Nasarawa Amazons last week.

The Super Falcons only secure a lead after several efforts against resilent and discplined Kogi Angels as Ebere slot past goalkeeper Ruth Sunday from a penalty spot in the 27th minute.

In the second half, Ordega find the back of the net in the 70th minute after she troubled the Tobilola Windapo’s marshalled defence and Sunday’s classic saves were greatly denied.

Umotong who came on as substitute grabbed an injury time just barely five minutes coming on to ensure her side’s comphensive vicory against the Kogi ladies.super falcons (2)
