Suspected Herdsmen Attack Claims Two Lives in Benue Community
Suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked a community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State on Sunday night, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.
The victims, identified as Agness Salahu, 28, and Ademu Efugoga, 25, were reportedly attacked between Egba and Ogbaulu communities in Agatu while returning from an event around 6 pm.
Confirming the incident, Barrister Napoleon Otache, a cousin of the deceased, lamented that Agatu is currently under siege by the attackers, expressing concern over the lack of security presence in the area.
“This insecurity in our land has assumed a dangerous dimension,” Otache stated, decrying the ongoing terror unleashed by the suspected Fulani terrorists in the region.
He urgently called for the federal government’s intervention, emphasizing that the Agatu and Apa enclave has been under siege by the attackers.
Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Benue State Police Command Public Relations Officer proved unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
