Adejo who made the call recently during the ‘Thank You Tour’ visit of the governor to the area said the council has been contending with a lot of restive youths in the area and have been complaining loudly several times that youths in the area have submitted to the diabolic fad of cultism.

This he said has led to a lot of crimes in the local government particularly at Igah, Okpo and Ogugu adding that inspite of the combined efforts of the Nigeria Police force and Department of State Security, DSS, the council was not able to bring the situation under control because it has become endemic.

He alleged that some highly placed individuals with vested interests make it difficult for them to stem the tide of cultism as their wards are neck deep in the crime.

The Chairman also commended the state governor, Captain Idris Wada for his concerted effort to liberate Ette, a boundary Community peopled by Igala and Idoma from the Stronghold of Enugu State.

He assured the governor the continued support from the people of the area to his administration.
