Top clubs track Kogi-born Eaglets Duo, Idowu, Abubakar – Agent
The Under-17 World Cup winning Golden Eaglets duo of Akinjide Idowu and Abubakar Aliyu Audu, both of Kogi state origin are close to securing good deals with top clubs in Europe, their agent has disclosed.
Abubakar and Idowu who hails from Anpka and Yagba-East respectively played four and five matches seperately for Nigeria at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup held in United Arab Emirates on their road to victory.
The duo’s agent Babawo told SavidNews.com that there are many clubs showing interest in the two players but have settled for only two clubs for Idowu and Abubakar respectively based on their seriousness.
Babawo, a retired player disclosed that Anderlecht of Belgium is interest in both players while Wisla Krakow of Poland and Atlanta of Italy have also shown genuine interest in the lad and that he has been discussing with their sporting directors.
“There are good number of clubs on the radar my client but for now Anderlecht have indicated interest in the two players (Abubakar and Idowu) while Krakow of Poland is after Abubakar, Atlanta of Italy with both expected to reach a deal in next two weeks.”
According to the former JUTH FC of Jos player,”The offers from interested clubs he is considering for his clients are top sides with good youthful programmes which will help the players grow into full international.”
Defender Abubakar Aliyu Audu nicknamed and midfielder Akinjide Idowu are players of Mutunchi Football Academy and Calabar Soccer l Academy respectively.
