Dream Team VI lost 5-3 to hosts Tunisia in the first game of their tour of North Africa played in Tunis on Saturday.

The head coach of the U-23 national team, Samson Siasia who flew with 21 other players and accompanying officials to Tunisia on Thursday night and the team were whitewashed by their more organised hosts and are billed to play one more game before returning to the country by the end of this month.

The hosts took the lead in the first minute of the tie through Jouini Slim but Effiong Etim leveled up for Nigeria in the third minute before Femi Ajayi’s goal in the 15th minute put the visitors in a brief ascendancy.

Tunisia equalized barely a minute later and they edged further ahead through Ghrab but Femi Ajayi Junior was on hand again to even the scores for the country’s U-23s in the 33rd as the first half ended 3-3.

Siasia’s men lost steam in the second half as they allowed Tunisia to net twice through Haj Hassan and Khaoui who got the fifth goal from the penalty spot.
