U-20 Women WCQ: Nigeria tackles South Africa, Ghana faces E.Guinea for tickets

falcons 3Nigeria will meet South Africa and Ghana takes on Equatorial Guinea in the final African qualifiers for the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup, to be hosted by Canada 5-24 Aug. 2014.

Nigeria, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea sealed their places in the final lap after the second-leg matches of the penultimate round at the weekend, joining Ghana for the ultimate hurdle.

They all completed doubles over their respective opponents to remain on course.

The South Africans crushed Tanzania 5-0 on Saturday (21 Dec) in Johannesburg to complete a double over the Tanzanites 9-1 on aggregate.

Elsewhere in Nabeul, located in the southeastern part of Tunisia, the Falconets of Nigeria were too strong for their hosts, beating them 4-0 on Sunday (22 Dec) to go through 8-0 on aggregate.

In Malabo, Equatorial Guinea humbled Zambia 4-0 to progress 6-0 on aggregate.

Two teams will emerge from the final round to represent Africa at Canada 2014.
