UAE2013: NFF assure Golden Eaglets on World Cup

The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) has for the umpteenth time pledged its unalloyed support towards the National Under-17 successful outing at the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the UAE.

A message of solidarity was delivered to team at their Princeville Hotel Camp in Calabar on Sunday by Alhaji Muazu Suleiman on behalf of NFF’s President Alhaji Aminu Maigari and other board members.

Suleiman who is the chairman of the NFF’s Referee Committee, said it was imperative that the team remain focussed on its objectives with the beginning of the World Cup around the corner even as he
enjoined the players to be up and doing.

“I’m here on behalf of President of the NFF who is unavoidably absent here today and we want to assure the NFF would do everything in our capacity to help you conquer the world in the UAE,” said Suleiman who
was the Golden Eaglets’ leader of delegation through all their CAN qualifiers.

“The fact that you couldn’t win the tournament in Morocco should be a big motivation for you to perform better at the World cup.

“Personally, I have passion for this team and by the grace of God, I would in Dubai to offer as usual my personal support because this is a team that is different in attitude and conduct.”

While commending the overall team spirit and unity of purpose especially amongst the technical crew, Suleiman told the players to shun any disciplined conduct and be focused.

“The most important thing in achieving success is for you to be disciplined and there is no two ways about that,” he advised.

“We are proud of this team because for almost two years, we have not heard of any rancour even despite the challenges you are facing and that show there is an overall discipline.”

Responding on behalf of the team, Head Coach Manu Garba(MFR), thank the NFF board led by Alhaji Maigari for always duty-bound in addressing issues concerning the team, promising a good outing at the World Cup:“ Of course, we have challenges but we are focused and by the grace of God, we shall do well at the World Cup.”
