The 22-year-old Nigerian secured a season-long loan switch to Anfield on transfer deadline day, after parent club Chelsea had strengthened significantly in his position already this summer with the likes of Andre Schurrle and Willian.

Moses feels that he needed to obtain guaranteed first-team football for the good of his career.

“As a young footballer coming up, I just wanted to play games,” Moses told Liverpool FC’s official website. “Not playing can really damage your career.

“Liverpool is a massive club and I just want to enjoy my football and try to help my teammates.

“The move to Chelsea was a massive step for me. I just wanted to go there, express myself and enjoy my football. Coming to Liverpool is another step for me.”

Moses, who scored once in 23 league appearances, joined Chelsea from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2012 for a reported £9m.
