VP Shettima Opens PEBEC, Urges Commitment to Fostering Businesses

During the inaugural meeting of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima emphasized the importance of creating a favorable business environment in Nigeria. In his remarks, he called upon council members to fully commit themselves to this mission and align with President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point Renewed Hope Agenda. Shettima stated, “Our commitment to fostering a conducive business environment is a direct reflection of the strong political will driving the transformative initiatives of this government.”

He encouraged council members to take ownership of the mission with unwavering dedication. Shettima emphasized the significance of their work, stating, “As a council, our dedication to these reforms must be unwavering, and each member must take ownership of this mission with 100 percent commitment.”

Recognizing the challenges ahead, Shettima highlighted the need for cooperation and a common commitment among council members. He stressed that achieving the goals of PEBEC requires a united effort, stating, “To truly realize the revolutionary effects that PEBEC may have on the economic environment in Nigeria, cooperation and a common commitment are the necessary mindsets.”

The Vice President also underscored the objective of creating enterprises that thrive in the face of challenges and contribute significantly to the nation’s economic vitality. He stated, “Our goal is not merely to weather the storm but to create more winners, enterprises that not only withstand challenges but thrive and contribute substantially to our economic vitality.”

By streamlining processes, reducing bureaucracy, and improving the ease of doing business, the council aims to create a conducive environment for businesses to prosper.
