Wada approves Maiden Higher Institutions Games for September
Governor Idris Wada of Kogi state on Thursday afternoon approved the organizing of the Inter-Higher Institution Games in the state by September, SavidNews Nigeria can reliably report.
The approval was sealed after representatives of seven-higher institutions in state met Captain Idris Wada alongside various top officials in the Kogi Ministry of Sports with plea for approval to stage the sports fiesta.
SavidNews Nigeria understands seven institutions in Kogi state have indicated interest to participate.
The already registered seven higher institutions include Kogi State University Ayangba, Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Federal College of Education Okene, ABU College of Agriculture Kabba, Kogi State College of Education Ankpa and Kogi State College of Education (Technical) Kabba.
SavidNews Nigeria gathered that the set-up committee for the games is yet to agree on the number of sports to be competed for in the 2013 Kogi State Higher Institutions Games.
The Kogi state higher institutions games if held will be the first in the history of the state and will remain a massive platform to recruit talents to represent Kogi State at the next year National Sports Festival in Calabar.
