Wada Launches’ Ultimate Benefit Micro-finance Bank

Private business initiatives that are in tandem with the economic transformation agenda of Capt. Idris Wada have been assured of Government’s support.

The Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, who was represewadanted at the commissioning of Ultimate Benefit Integrated Micro-finance Bank in Lokoja, gave the assurance.

The Governor described micro-financing as a developmental tool for poverty alleviation, said the initiative to establish the bank across the 21 Local Government is in line with his administrations agenda of empowering people and communities.

Capt. Wada, who disclosed that the business of providing succor for the people, no longer rest squarely on the shoulders of Government, called on institutions and private individuals to through articulated programmes join in the fight against poverty.

The Governor disclosed that his administrations has so far pursued programmes and policies that have had direct bearing with the lives of the people, disclosed that over 4000 youths have so far been gainfully engaged, through his administrations youths empowerment programme.

The Governor congratulated the proprietor of the bank, for being an ardent supporter of his programmes, plans and policies.

Earlier in his remarks Chief Paul Gowon Haruna, Chairman of Ultimate Benefit Integrated Micro-finance Bank said the essence of the bank is to impact on the poor and financially incapacitated.

Chief Haruna, called on the State and Local Government Areas to devote a percentage of their annual budgets to micro-credit initiatives to be administered largely through Micro-finance Banks.

The Chairman commended Kogi State for providing a conducive atmosphere for investor to thrive. He also called on people of all shade of opinion, business and Government to partner with the bank for maximum benefits.

The Chairman appealed to operators of Kogi State youth empowerment programme to align with the bank to actualize the dream of building a veritable youth development programme in the State.

Highlight of the Banks commissioning was the breaking of Kolanut by his royal majesty Dr. Michael Ameh Oboni, the Attah Igala and Chairman Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers as well as the cutting of tape by the State Governor.
