Warri Wolves have qualified for the Caf Champions League first round without kicking a ball.

The Seasiders were billed to face Sao Tome and Principe’s Sporting Clube da Praia Cruz at the Warri Township Stadium on Sunday, but the Lions failed to show up and the Nigerians not only walked over but are through to the next round of Africa’s biggest club competition.

With this, Wolves will now square up with Al-Merrikh in the first round of the competition.

Sam Okpodu’s men will host the first leg between March 11-13, 2016 while the return leg holds a week later at the Al-Merrikh Stadium, Omdurman.

The leaders who parade Nigerian Solomon Jabason in their fold were semi-finalist in the 2015 edition.
