Biffo disclosed this while speaking with newsmen at the end of the Nigeria National League (NNL) encounter at Confluence Stadium, Lokoja said he expected a one-sided victory for his team.

The coach said his expectations were cut short as the Prisons boys who were at the bottom of the league table gave a good account of themselves and capitalized on the complacency of his boys to score two goals.

The Wada boys opened scoring in the in the 39th minute when its captain, Abiodun Afolabi converted a spot kick.

Ebenezer Odeyemi increased the tally for Kogi United with a header from Afolabi’s cross six minutes into the second half (51 minute).

Endurance Ighahon of the prisons FC took advantage of a defensive blunder to disarm Kogi United’s keeper, Innocent Ndem to raise the hope of his side in the 71st minute.

Opeyemi Oketola, a substitute, scored the third goal for the home side just 10 minutes later (81st minute) to maintain the two-goal superiority.

But just as they were awaiting the final whistle in the 93rd minute of the game, Sunday Emmanuel of Prisons FC shot from outside the 18-yard box to dampen the homeboys’ spirit, ending the match on a 3-2 note.

Biffo commended the fighting spirit of the Prison boys saying that they did not deserve to be at the bottom of the league table as he expressed delight that his team was able to pick the maximum points “And I think that’s the most important thing in football.”

Technical Adviser of Prisons FC, Brown Zibiri commended the performance of his boys as he admitted that Kogi United deserved the victory.

“Kogi United showed maturity today, I think that’s what gave the victory, they deserve it, but my boys did make me proud today, that’s my consolation, they didn’t show they are a team at the bottom of the league, and I still have hope and believe we can make it out,”

Kogi United has so far garnered 38 points from 23 matches as it is billed to tracvel to Keffi, Nasarawa State next Saturday for a cracker with FRSC in Keffi.
