Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) has confirmed that Nigeria’s sterling wrestler in the Indian Pro league, Odunayo Adekuoroye, will arrive Nigeria on Tuesday, 5th January 2015.
The federation president, Hon. Daniel Igali, who stated this in a statement said Adekuoroye ought to have arrived last week but had to complete some terms in her contract.
The statement noted that the Nigeria Wrestling Federation will be at the airport to welcome the Nigerian heroin because she has done the nation proud.
“For me 2015 was a great year, Nigerian wrestlers performed excellently well, especially Adekuoroye and we have to treat her as a heroine which she is”, the statement said.
“I’m aware that the National Sport Commission (NSC) is going to be there to welcome her and I feel Nigerians can do better than that”, Igali said.
The statement added that Adekuoroye is a great ambassador and the nation should come out in their numbers to welcome her like the way they did to the U17 football team.
Speaking, the DG National Sport Commission, Alhassan Yakmut said a delegation will be sent to the airport to welcome the 2015 World Wrestling Bronze medalist.
