Why Man City played 4-4 with Chelsea – Guardiola
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has suggested why his team drew 4-4 with Chelsea in Sunday’s Premier League tie.
Guardiola watched as goals from Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Erling Haaland (2), Manuel Akanji, and Rodri ensured both Man City and Chelsea shared a point each at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking at his post-match press conference after the game, he suggested that Man City failed to beat Chelsea because the match was ‘tight.’
According to him, Mauricio Pochettino’s men are in good shape.
“I don’t remember a game where we came here to get the chances we had. A millions times much worse than today, when we won 0-1,” Guardiola said.
“Their shape is really good. It happens, give credit to both teams and Pochettino will give analysis about his team. It was tight. A fair result.”
He added: “The quality they are, they push you to another level to make decisions. Right now, I think it’s a fair result.”
