Women’s World Cup 2027: South Africa revive hosting rights bid

Through the voice of its Director General, Tebogo Motlanthe, the South African Football Federation (SAFA) has declared that it wishes to submit an application for the organization of the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

For that of 2023 awarded to Australia and New Zealand, the SAFA had also initially shown its intention before withdrawing to focus on the development of its women’s championship.

The federal administration will officially inform FIFA of this. Africa, like South America, which have never hosted the Women’s World Cup should not be the only candidates.

As a reminder, now 32 teams will participate in the final phase, and the next edition with this format will take place next summer.
