Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has fueled speculation about his future with the national team, moments after Monday’s loss to France in Brasilia.

The Lille goalkeeper conceded twice to see the Super Eagles eliminated from the tournament and said he would consider some break from international football.

Expected to become captain following the retirement of Joseph Yobo, the 31-year-old who has been one of the team’s outstanding players in the competition said he is not sure.

“It is a big prestige and big honour to wear the [captain’s] armband for the national team,” Enyeama told SuperSport.

“But at some point you need to say, ‘okay I take some years off, maybe I take some months off. Maybe I call it quits’. I would sit with my wife and see what next.

“Maybe it is my last game,” he said.
