Youths in Kogi beg Wada over Unpaid Empowerment Funds

Some youths in kogi state that underwent the Empowerment Programme initiated by the Kogi State Government under Youths Advancement and Development Programme for Kogi (YAD4KOGI) pleaded with the Kogi state government to pay their balance.

Some participants made their complains known to Journalists on Wednesday in Lokoja.

Abu Mohammed, 28 years old from lokoja local government said he’s one of the second set of the program, he said the state paid only N50,000 out of N250,000 since March 2013.

He said during the one week training the government promised to pay them after making good use of the first 50,000 that will be given out after the training.

He further said he has used all his money on the fish pond and the state is not ready to assist him by buying the fish from him as promised.

Abu further beg the government to have mercy on him and his group members by paying up the money.

Shade Aina from Ijumu local government one of the participant also told the nwws agency that the government refuse tovpay up the money after getting the first payment from them.

She further said that she has waste so much time and energy on the production of crop and the government is not doing anything to encourage her and her group.

Shade also beg the State government to come to their rescue by paying up the money in time.
