Zonal Stakeholders Eco-Fair: Pius Anyim, Saraki, others to visit Kogi on Aug 14

Kogi State Government will host this year’s 3rd Zonal stakeholders Forum/Zonal Eco-Fair in Lokoja from Thursday 14th and Friday 15th August, 2014.

The forum which will be attended by Senator Pius Anyim, Secretary to Government of the Federation as Special Guest of Honour and the Executive Governor of Kogi State as Chief Host, will also have the Minister of Environment, Mrs Lawrentia Laraba Mallam as well as Senator Bukola Saraki and Mrs Eunice Uche Ekwunife, Chairman of the Senate and House Committee Chair Person on Environment respectively among other dignitaries who will be in attendance.

The Forum which according to a statement issued and signed by Abu Micheal, Chief Press Secretary to Kogi State Deputy Governor, is specifically designed for key stakeholders in the ecological sector from the North West, North East and North Central Zones of the country.

The statement further said, the forum is geared towards promoting synergy that will further enhance collaborative efforts of stakeholders in the zone in tackling their peculiar problems.

The forum with the theme “Effective Partnership Towards Sustainable Ecological Projects Management” is also to create a platform for stakeholders to collectively strategies, establish procedures and evolve standards, with a view to identifying performance gaps as well as articulate management improvement strategies for enhancing efficient and cost effective implementation of ecological projects within the zone.

Highlight of activities of the forum will include visit by the Minister of Environment to the State Governor and presentation of four papers by distinguished resource persons, a Technical session, Eco Fair Exhibition and NCEP Members’ visitation to projects’ sites and selected problem areas requiring Federal Government intervention through the Ecological Fund.
