D'Tigress rally behind Super Falcons ahead of WAFCON title defence
Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have thrown their support behind the Super Falcons as the 10-time African champions prepare to begin the defence of their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.
In a show of solidarity between two of Nigeria’s most successful women’s national teams, D’Tigress sent a heartfelt message of encouragement to the Super Falcons ahead of their opening Group B fixture.
“Best wishes to our sister Queens, @NGSuper_Falcons, as they begin the defence of their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title this week in Morocco.”
The gesture highlights the strong bond between Nigeria’s elite women’s teams, both of whom have consistently flown the country’s flag high on the continental and global stage.
The Super Falcons open their WAFCON campaign against debutants Malawi before facing Zambia and Egypt in Group B, as they pursue a record-extending 10th African title.
D’Tigress, themselves continental champions, will also have their own ambitions on the international stage later this year, making the exchange of goodwill another reminder of the unity and mutual respect shared among Nigeria’s female athletes.
