Ahudiyannem Queens appoint Adanna Nwaneri as head coach amidst relegation battles

Ahudiyannem Queens FC have announced the appointment of Adanna Nwaneri as the new head coach of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side.

Nwaneri’s appointment follows the resignation of Ann Chiejine, who stepped down after a 5–2 defeat to Abia Angels FC on Matchday 9. The setback came shortly after Ahudiyannem Queens had celebrated their first top-flight victory of the season a convincing 5–1 win over Confluence Queens on Matchday 8.

The new head coach joins the club from Abia Angels FC, where she previously served as head coach and technical adviser. Her coaching résumé also includes stints with Heartland Queens FC and Invincible Angels, giving her extensive experience within the domestic women’s football scene.

On the international front, Nwaneri has worked with Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, as an assistant coach, contributing to tactical planning and the development of young talents at the national level.

Ahudiyannem Queens currently sit 10th in Group B with five points from nine matches and face a tough fight to steer clear of relegation. Nwaneri is tasked with stabilising the team and inspiring a turnaround as the NWFL Premiership season enters a decisive phase.

Club officials, players and supporters have expressed confidence in her appointment, hopeful that her experience and leadership will inject fresh momentum and improve results in the remaining fixtures.
