The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 19 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud following coordinated raids across Benin City, Edo State.

Operatives from the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate carried out the operation on Saturday April 12, 2025 after acting on credible intelligence linking the suspects to various cybercrime activities.

During the operation, officers recovered five luxury vehicles and several high-end smartphones believed to be proceeds of fraudulent online transactions.

The suspects are currently in EFCC custody and will be formally charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
