NAFED Seeks Corporate Support for 15th TIZOCATA International Archery Championship
The Nigeria Archery Federation (NAFED) has appealed to corporate organisations, development partners and well-meaning Nigerians to support the successful hosting of the 15th TIZOCATA Open International Archery Championship scheduled for October 8–11, 2026, in Abuja.
The appeal was made by the Federation’s First Vice President and Chairman of its Marketing Committee, Ambassador Augustine Chigbolu, who said corporate partnerships would be crucial to the successful organisation of the international competition and the continued development of archery in Nigeria.
The 15th TIZOCATA Championship is expected to bring together archers, national teams, clubs, coaches, technical officials and other stakeholders from Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
According to NAFED, the competition will provide athletes with an opportunity to compete at international level, improve their rankings, develop their skills and promote friendship and collaboration through the sport of archery.
Chigbolu said financial and logistical support from corporate partners would assist the organisers in meeting key requirements, including competition logistics, athlete welfare, equipment, transportation, hospitality, venue branding, media coverage and other operational needs.
He also represents the visibility and engagement opportunities available to prospective sponsors through official event banners, promotional materials, NAFED’s digital platforms, media campaigns and championship publications.
Corporate partners, he added, would also have opportunities for branded activations, networking and participation in official activities surrounding the championship.
NAFED has meanwhile introduced a special concession for Nigerian archers as part of efforts to encourage wider domestic participation in the international event.
The Federation said the concession is intended to reduce the financial burden on local athletes and encourage more Nigerian archers to participate in the championship alongside competitors from other countries.
The federation has urged intending participants to register promptly to enable the organising committee to conclude accreditation and other logistical arrangements ahead of the competition.
Chigbolu expressed appreciation to NAFED’s existing corporate partners, including G-Lavori Limited and SBS Nigeria Limited, as well as other individuals and organisations that have supported the federation’s activities.
He called on additional companies and development partners to join the initiative, stressing that investment in the championship would contribute to youth development, athlete welfare, sports development and Nigeria’s participation on the international archery stage.
The NAFED marketing committee chairman also assured prospective sponsors that the Federation remained committed to professionalism, transparency and accountability in the management of partnerships and support.
The 15th TIZOCATA is listed by NAFED as one of its major Nigeria-hosted international events on the federation’s 2026 calendar. The federation says the event forms part of its broader programme to strengthen competition, talent development and Nigeria’s standing in international archery.
NAFED President Mohammed Baba Abdullahi has also urged Nigerian archers to take advantage of the championship by registering promptly and using the opportunity to test themselves against international opposition.
With the championship approaching, the Federation is seeking wider corporate participation to ensure that the Abuja event delivers a strong competitive platform for athletes while also advancing the visibility and development of archery in Nigeria.
