Remo Stars turn to Olumide Ajibolade to lead new era
Remo Stars have named Olumide Ajibolade as their new head coach, handing one of Nigeria's brightest young tacticians the responsibility of leading the club into a new chapter.
The Ikenne-based side confirmed the appointment in a statement released on their official website on Wednesday, describing Ajibolade as a coach who steps into the role after years of outstanding achievements in youth development and team management.
Ajibolade's journey with the Remo Stars Sports Club project began in 2019 when he was appointed head coach of the club's U-17 team. Two years later, he took charge of Beyond Limits Football Academy and transformed it into one of the country's most successful talent development programmes.
His spell at the academy was marked by sustained success. Beyond Limits lifted five TCC League titles in six seasons, emerging champions in 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2025/26. The team also won consecutive TCC Cup titles in 2023/24 and 2024/25, claimed the TCC Super Cup in 2025, and captured the Ogun State FA Cup in both 2024 and 2026.
Ajibolade also masterminded an impressive rise through Nigeria's football pyramid. He guided Beyond Limits from the Nationwide League One (NLO) to the Nigeria National League (NNL) in the 2022/23 season before securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) the following campaign.
The fairy-tale run continued as Beyond Limits crowned their remarkable 2023/24 season by winning the Nigeria National League title in Enugu.
His influence extended beyond Nigerian football. In 2024, he led Beyond Limits to victory at the prestigious Viareggio Cup in Italy before steering the academy to back-to-back Gothia Cup triumphs in Sweden in 2025 and 2026, further cementing the club's growing reputation on the international stage.
Renowned for his commitment to developing young talent, Ajibolade has played a key role in shaping several players who have gone on to launch professional careers with clubs across Europe and other parts of the world.
He now takes over the reins at Remo Stars with the task of rebuilding the club following their relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, as the Sky Blue Stars look to bounce back stronger under a familiar and proven leader.
