Tanzania have unveiled their squad for the upcoming double-header against Nigeria in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with two new players earning their maiden invitations and three others returning to the Taifa Stars setup.
The East Africans are preparing for a crucial test against the Super Eagles as both nations seek to strengthen their chances of securing qualification for the continental tournament.
Among the newly invited players are Abdallah Hassani, who features for Al-Ain Reserves in the United Arab Emirates, and Evastus Lukanima of Tanzanian club Kagera Sugar.
Three players have also been recalled to the national team, including Young Africans defender Dickson Job, who returns after featuring for Tanzania at the last Africa Cup of Nations.
Ben Starkie of English club Truro City has also earned a recall, having last represented the Taifa Stars in June 2024.
Similarly, Clement Mzize, another Young Africans player, returns to the squad after his last international appearance in September 2025.
The selections are expected to strengthen Tanzania's options ahead of their two important encounters against the Nigerian side.
Nigeria will host the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, before the two teams travel to Tanzania for the return fixture four days later.
The double-header is expected to play a significant role in shaping the qualification campaign, with both countries determined to secure favourable results in their pursuit of a place at the 2027 AFCON.
