"His performance deserves congratulations, especially for everyone who believes in Momoh's ability to play at the highest level in the Croatian top flight. We are all very happy for him".

"It was a very important victory, winning 2-0 away from home. The defence kept a clean sheet, and Momoh played the entire match. At just 18 years old, we are very pleased with his performance," the official added.

The promising defender joined NK Istra during the January transfer window after impressing with Mavlon FC in Nigeria.

His rapid development also earned him an invitation to the Flying Eagles squad for the WAFU B U20 Championship in Côte d'Ivoire in July, although NK Istra declined to release him for the competition, having identified him as an important part of their plans for the season.

With a full 90-minute display, a clean sheet and an impressive individual rating on his first start, Momoh has taken another significant step towards establishing himself in European football.

His performance against Slaven Belupo offers further evidence of the growing promise surrounding the young Nigerian defender.
