2026 WAFU-B Women's Champions League: Edo Queens Maintain Perfect Record Against Holders ASEC Mimosa
Edo Queens continued their impressive start to the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B qualifying tournament with a convincing 3-1 victory over holders ASEC Mimosas in Group B.
The Nigerian champions took control of the encounter with two first-half goals. Oluwakemi Adegbuyi opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Dooshima Tarnum doubled Edo Queens’ advantage shortly before halftime.
ASEC Mimosas pulled one goal back through Doudou Yeti in the 83rd minute, raising hopes of a late comeback.
However, Edo Queens sealed the victory in the 89th minute when Umejaku Oluebube found the net to make it 3-1.
The result takes Edo Queens to six points from two matches and puts them in a strong position to advance from Group B.
For defending champions ASEC Mimosas, the defeat leaves their qualification hopes hanging by a thread, with the Ivorian side now facing the possibility of an early exit from the competition.
