Akor Adams agrees personal terms with Venezia
Nigeria international Akor Adams is on the verge of leaving Spanish club Sevilla after reaching a personal agreement with Italian side Venezia ahead of the new season.
The Super Eagles striker has reportedly agreed to a long-term contract that would keep him at Venezia until 2030, with the Serie A club now working to reach an agreement with Sevilla over the transfer fee.
Adams was absent when Sevilla resumed preseason training at the José Ramón Cisneros Palacios training complex on Monday, July 6, after being granted additional rest following his international commitments with Nigeria in June.
However, reports suggest there is a growing possibility that the forward may not return to the club if negotiations progress quickly.
Venezia recently made an opening bid of around €10 million for the 25 year old, but Sevilla rejected the offer, insisting on their €15 million valuation.
The Spanish club's asking price matches Adams' current market value and is €5 million lower than the initial figure they reportedly demanded when Venezia first expressed interest.
Sevilla signed Adams from French side Montpellier in January 2025 for just over €5 million. A sale at €15 million would represent a significant profit for the La Liga club while also providing funds to facilitate the registration of new signings.
With personal terms already agreed, attention now shifts to negotiations between both clubs as Venezia seek to secure the signature of the Nigerian striker before the start of the new campaign.
