Asisat Oshoala joins Al Hilal on two-year deal
Six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, has signed a two-year contract with Saudi giants Al-Hilal.
The Super Falcons star makes the move after a short stint with Bay FC in the United States, where she arrived in January 2024 following a glittering five-year spell at FC Barcelona. In Saudi Arabia, she will line up alongside fellow internationals Ashleigh Plumptre, Francisca Ordega, and other big names already featuring in the rapidly growing Saudi Women’s Premier League.
At 30, Oshoala boasts one of the most decorated résumés in women’s football. With Barcelona, she lifted the UEFA Women’s Champions League three times and collected multiple league and cup titles across Europe. She recently added a fourth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) crown with Nigeria in Morocco, further cementing her status as a legend of the African game.
Her transfer underscores Saudi Arabia’s rising investment in women’s football, as the league continues to attract world-class talent to raise its profile on the global stage.
For Al-Hilal, Oshoala’s arrival brings elite experience and proven firepower to their attack, strengthening their bid for domestic dominance. For the striker, it marks another milestone in a career that has already taken her across England, China, Spain, and the United States.
