Bayelsa Queens land teenage sensation Harmony Chidi on loan
NWFL Premiership champions, Bayelsa Queens, have strengthened their attacking options with the loan signing of highly rated forward Harmony Chidi from Imo Striker Queens FC.
The teenage sensation made headlines during the 2024 FIFA U-17 World Cup Qualifiers, finishing as top scorer with 12 goals before representing Nigeria at the U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic. Known for her sharp finishing and ability to play across multiple attacking roles, Chidi is seen as a major boost to the reigning champions’ firepower.
Speaking at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Wednesday, Bayelsa Queens Chairman, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, said the club’s latest acquisition fits perfectly into their ambition for the coming season.
“We have decided to bring in players we believe have the quality to help us achieve our set goals. With the calibre of talent we’re recruiting and the continued support of the Bayelsa State Government and our stakeholders, we are confident of achieving our target,” he said.
Pastor Apreala also expressed appreciation to Governor Douye Diri for his unwavering support, emphasizing that the team’s steady progress would not have been possible without his commitment.
