Confluence Queens appoint Nsikakabasi Okon as new Technical Adviser

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side Confluence Queens have confirmed the appointment of Nsikakabasi Okon as their new technical adviser, rewarding his impressive performance during a brief spell as interim coach.

Okon, who previously served as assistant coach under former technical adviser Folabi Ojekunle, made an immediate impact when handed temporary charge of the team. He guided the Kogi-based side to four points from two matches, including a historic 3–0 away victory over Dannaz Ladies of Lagos. The result marked Confluence Queens’ first win of the season and their first-ever triumph against the Lagos outfit. He also masterminded a hard-fought draw against previously unbeaten Nasarawa Amazons.

Before his move to Confluence Queens, Okon gained valuable coaching experience with First Mahi Bases FC, further strengthening his credentials for the role.

Reacting to the appointment, Kogi State Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, tasked Okon with steering the team clear of the relegation zone. “We trust in your abilities and expect you to provide the leadership and technical guidance required to ensure the team maintains its top-flight status,” Anyebe said. He also urged the new technical adviser to instil discipline within the squad and help the players realise their full potential.

With the battle for NWFL survival still ongoing, Nsikakabasi Okon now takes full responsibility for guiding Confluence Queens away from relegation danger.
