EFCC Responds to Public Outcry, Explains VeryDarkMan’s Arrest
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as Verydarkman is under investigation following multiple petitions alleging serious financial crimes. Despite several invitations sent to his known addresses and communication channels, Otse failed to respond.
The EFCC emphasised that the allegations are grave and warrant thorough investigation. His arrest, the Commission stated, was carried out in accordance with due process and is unrelated to his recent public criticisms of the agency. A lawful remand order was secured for his detention, and he has since been granted administrative bail, pending the fulfillment of all conditions. The Commission urged the public to refrain from speculating about its motives, affirming that it remains committed to carrying out its duties without fear or favour.
Once investigations are complete, charges will be filed accordingly.
