Reigning WAFU-B champions Edo Queens FC will return to training on Wednesday, September 23, as the Nigerian champions begin preparations for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League in South Africa.

The Benin City-based side have enjoyed a two-week break after their impressive run to the WAFU-B title in Burkina Faso, but attention now shifts to the bigger challenge on the continental stage.

Having conquered West Africa, Edo Queens are expected to step up their preparations with a focus on fitness, tactical organisation and team cohesion as they look to make their mark in the Champions League.

Head coach Moses Aduku will also resume his duties with the team after missing the WAFU-B campaign due to national team commitments.

Aduku was recently with several Edo Queens players in Poland as part of the Falconets’ setup, but has now returned and will take charge of the team as preparations intensify.

With the CAF Women’s Champions League scheduled for October/November in South Africa, Edo Queens will be hoping to build on their regional triumph and carry that momentum onto the continental stage.
