Nigeria sends highpower delegation to Morocco for FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals

Acting General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, has expressed confidence in the Flamingos’ ability to defeat Japan and win the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Ikpeme, who will be present at Saturday’s final, said the Nigerian team had demonstrated the quality and determination needed to overcome their Japanese opponents and make history.

“The NFF has confidence in the ability of the Flamingos to make Nigerians beam with smiles of joy on Saturday. If Brazil could not stop them, I don’t see Japan doing so. This is surely the year of the Flamingos, and the year Nigeria will again celebrate a global title,” he said.

A high-powered Federal Government delegation is also expected to attend the final, led by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko.

The delegation will include the NSC Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, and the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, CG Adewale Adeniyi.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe are also expected to be at the highly anticipated encounter as the Flamingos seek their first-ever FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup title.
