NAWFA backs Justine Madugu, calls for unity
The Northern Amateur Women Football Association (NAWFA) publicly expressed its unwavering support for Coach Justine Madugu, whose leadership has been instrumental in the remarkable progress of the Nigeria's senior women's national team.
"While we recognize that coaching styles and tactical decisions often invite public debate, we believe that the accomplishments of Coach Madugu speak volumes. Under his guidance, the Super Falcons have demonstrated exceptional growth, resilience, and ambition on the international stage—qualities that reflect the best of Nigerian football," NAWFA stated.
"As an organization dedicated to the development of women’s football across Northern Nigeria, we take immense pride in the visible impact of Coach Madugu’s mentorship. His commitment to excellence and player development has not only lifted the team but also served as an inspiration to countless aspiring female footballers across the nation.
"We urge the general public, stakeholders, and fans to rally behind Coach Madugu and the Super Falcons. Constructive feedback plays a role in progress, but persistent negativity undermines team spirit and national unity. Let us instead choose encouragement, respect, and belief in our team.
"Together, we can continue building a winning team that represents Nigeria with pride, strength, and dignity."
Madugu led the Super Falcons to an Indomitable 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign to win their 10th continental title.
He also emerged as the coach of the tournament.
