Eric Chelle prioritises Super Eagles mission amid ongoing contract talks
Eric Chelle has made it clear that his focus remains firmly on managing Nigeria national football team, even as parts of his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation are yet to be fully resolved.
The Franco-Malian tactician disclosed that financial details are still under discussion between his representatives and the federation, following months of negotiations.
Speaking to journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, Chelle emphasised that he has delegated the contractual talks to his agent in order to remain fully committed to his coaching duties.
According to him, his primary concern is building a competitive squad and delivering results, rather than getting involved in off field negotiations.
As part of that mission, Chelle revealed plans to deepen his scouting network within the domestic scene by attending matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The move is aimed at identifying and integrating home based talents into the national team setup.
He also pointed to preparations for the upcoming Unity Cup in London, which will serve as a key platform for evaluating the squad ahead of future international assignments.
Despite the unresolved financial aspects of his contract, Chelle’s approach signals continuity and stability within the Super Eagles camp, with the coach fully focused on strengthening the team and achieving success on the pitch.
