Afeez Aremu's early strike lifts Aberdeen in relegation battle

Super Eagles midfielder Afeez Aremu announced himself in style for Aberdeen, scoring his first goal for the club in dramatic fashion to secure a vital victory over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership relegation playoffs.

The Nigerian wasted no time making his mark, finding the back of the net just 51 seconds into the encounter his maiden goal in only his sixth appearance for ‘The Dons’ since completing his move from Germany in January.

At 26, Aremu brings a wealth of experience, having featured across leagues in Norway and Germany, and his growing influence could prove crucial as Aberdeen fight to retain their top flight status.

The win sees Aberdeen climb to second place in the relegation playoff standings with 36 points from 34 matches, now sitting four points behind table toppers Dundee United as the survival race intensifies.
