Nigeria’s Kemi Adegbuyi has promised more goals and improved performances after scoring the opening goal in the Flamingos’ 3-1 victory over defending champions Korea DPR in their final group match at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Adegbuyi said the team approached the encounter with determination and belief, insisting that the coaches’ encouragement helped the players prepare confidently for the crucial fixture.

The forward explained that she was confident in her pace and ability to find the net, adding that the team remained focused on securing all three points from the group-stage encounter.

“What was going through my mind was that I am faster and quicker and can score. The coaches told us that we can do it. They are also girls and young players,” she said.

“We came prepared for this game. The spirit is high. From the camp, we were so determined to get the three points.

“Nigerians should keep believing in us and keep trusting us. I dedicate this win to my teammates. I love you guys and the coaches.

“They should expect more goals from me and good performance.”

Adegbuyi’s goal set the Flamingos on their way to victory against the reigning champions, as Nigeria finished their group-stage campaign with an important result at the global youth tournament.

The youngster also called on Nigerians to continue supporting the team as they look ahead to the knockout stage, promising to maintain her scoring form and contribute to the Flamingos’ ambitions.
