FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Qualifiers: Flamingos zoom past Bantwana into third round

The Nigerian U-17 women's national team soared to victory in the second leg of the FIFA Women's U17 World Cup Qualifiers, defeating South Africa's Bantwana 2-0 at Ikenne.

The decisive win, coupled with their 3-1 victory in the first leg, secured a commanding 5-1 aggregate victory, propelling the Flamingos to the next round of the competition.

Harmony Chidi opened the scoring in the first half, demonstrating the team's early dominance.

Aishat Animashaun added a second goal in the second half, sealing the victory and sending a clear message to their opponents.

With their qualification secured, the Flamingos now turn their attention to the next challenge: a showdown in April against either Botswana or Algeria.

This match will be a crucial test as the Flamingos strive to earn a coveted spot in the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
